HEADSTART cardio/respiratory fitness

The Headstart fitness program is designed to help you regain the conditioning and energy to move and be active according to your goals. It’s a step by step journey at your pace, in your own way, and with the support of your physiotherapist to keep you progressing.

Researchers and medical experts agree that for almost everyone, the right exercise results in a stronger, healthier body. Everyone has their own pace of exercising, and often this means starting slowly.

HOW DO I DO HEADSTART?

  • It’s designed to be done at your home, but should work well at your gym if you prefer.

Intensive 8-week challenge

Ongoing regular sessions

Intensive 8-week challenge

  • Initial consultation and assessment with an exercise-trained physiotherapist
  • Weekly 40 min supervised sessions
  • 8 weeks of combined supervised and individual exercise
  • Home program to do at least twice per week
  • Support as needed during the challenge
  • Progress checks regularly and at the final session
  • Ongoing support afterwards as you require

OR

Ongoing regular sessions

  • Initial telehealth consultation and assessment with an exercise-trained physiotherapist
  • Supervised 40 min exercise sessions when suits you
  • Home program to do 2 or more times per week
  • Support to achieve your goals
